South Downs Care

The Brief

When we first started working with Downs House and Stroud House, two residential care homes run by the same family in the South Downs around Petersfield in Hampshire, they were marketed and presented very much as two homes. We were asked to create a cohesive new business name and brand that would connect the two homes, whilst respecting their individual benefits and characteristics and then manage the process of rolling this new identity out on to all printed and online marketing resources.

The Solution

Though a consultative process, South Downs Care was decided upon as a name for the business and we then created a brand identity that took into account not only the business ethos and approach, but also the staff, the surroundings and most importantly the residents and their families - past, present and future. We were then able to create a full suite of marketing collateral in order that all communications, both internal and external, were aligned with this new identity. This includes: business stationery, website development, brochure and leaflet design and print, advertising design and management, copywriting and signage. We continue to work with the group for all their design, marketing and website development requirements.

The Feedback

"When it came to choosing a marketing company to produce our new image we knew what we didn't want more than what we did want. We didn't want a big corporate marketing company based hours away, who would impose their ideas on us, without much consultation, for a large fee.

So when a flyer came through from Mzuri Design we thought we should give them a try. On meeting them I was immediately impressed, they understood that although we wanted to create a new image so that we could promote both our care homes together, as a family business well known and respected in the local community, we did not want to give the impression that we had just sold out to a faceless corporation.

We were so pleased with the brand and brochure and the feedback we received, that we asked Mzuri to undertake additional projects, including the development of our new website. During this period they have also designed adverts and helped with copy for local newspapers and Yellow Pages, often at very short notice.
